Greetings From The West

Brethren,

Wow, does time fly?  Here it is already August, school will soon start back, football season is just around the corner, then the holiday season will be upon us!  Where did the year go?

We’ve had a busy year with lots of work and more coming up!

We conferred the FC degree on 2 brothers in August then, 2 weeks later we conferred the EA degree on Donald Finch and Jonathon Johnson.  We had great support and an almost full lodge.  Thanks to everyone for the help—your attendance at the degree work does make a difference to the officers as well as the candidates.

The Worshipful Master has scheduled the conferral of the Master Mason degree on FC Brothers David Beasley and David Brunson for August 27th at 7 PM.  Please come out and support and welcome these 2 Brothers to the sublime degree of Master Mason.

Fall also brings with it the fall BBQ on September 25th.  Tickets are now available.  Please call any officer if you’d like tickets.  The cost is still $8.00 for adults and $6.00 for children!  Also, please be thinking about where you would like to help with this important fundraiser.  We have a lot of older members who work tirelessly at every BBQ ,and have for years.  Let’s not take advantage of them.  Come on down and learn what the different crews do and help where you can.  To our EA brethren, yes, you too can come on down and give a hand and enjoy the fellowship.

Most Worshipful Grand Master Barry A. Rickman has tentatively schedule an official visit to Acacia lodge for September 3rd.  Brethren from throughout the district, along with adjoining districts will be invited to attend and there will probably be a huge crowd.  Mark your calendars so you can join us.  (Imagine the excitement the 2 new Master Masons must feel as they will be attending their first lodge meeting as a Master Mason with the Grand Master in attendance!)

A thought for the day:  The door to the human heart can only be opened from the inside.

Fraternally,

Jon Majerus, JW
